The Cannibal village was a small settlement in the north of Monkey Island. It contained a number of huts suitable to house a reasonably sized tribe.
Leading to the village was a long path with impaled and hanged bodies.
Secret of Monkey Island[]
The village was home to the local Cannibal tribe. At this time it was the largest settlement on the island, although it was largely empty. A human skeleton was hanging outside a hut. Another hut served as a prison, next to which was an idol with fruit offerings.
Curse of Monkey Island[]
When the Carnival of the Damned was built, the Cannibals became frustrated with the constant flow of tourists and eventually left the island. Lemonhead and others visited to Blood Island, although no settlement is visible there.

The village had been repurposed for use by the monkeys led by Jojo Jr. since the Cannibals left the island.
Trivia[]
Originally in SoMI Guybrush was to traverse a screen with a jungle path full of impaled and mutilated bodies before reaching the village. In the final version of the game this screen was removed, obviously because the path screen served no purpose (and perhaps it was too grotesque). However the data remained in the resource files, and it was rediscovered during the making of the Special Edition.
