The Caribbean was an archipelago which contained a collection of islands, where Pirate activity and culture was at its peak. The Tri-Island Area and the Gulf of Melange are in the Caribbean.

Trivia

Although there is a Caribbean in real life, the islands in the game are not based on actual geography.

Some real-life locations are mentioned in documentation and perhaps dialogue: Antigua, Barbados, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Tortuga.
