Dinky Island is a small island east of Monkey Island and also surrounded by the same mystic Voodoo fog. Much of the island consists of a curious jungle, with landmarks such as topiary sculpture.

Dinky was one of the islands of the Tri-Island Area that was interconnected by underground tunnels. The tunnels also were connected to the Mêlée Town.

It was the location where the crew of The Elaine hid the treasure of Big Whoop under a big X. Afterwards they ripped the treasure map and each one kept a piece.

In the book Big Whoop: Unclaimed Bonanza or Myth it was mis-labelled as "Inky Island" and captain Kate Capsize calls it "Blinky Island". The Men of Low Moral Fiber called it Drinky Island.

Herman Toothrot retreated there as a hermit philosopher. At the beach there is a salt water distiller. There was also the Parrot who remembered the digging location.

Guybrush Threepwood was looking for Big Whoop and managed to collect the map pieces, but it was Wally B. Feed who could identify it. However he did not need the map eventually: he flung to the island when he inadvertently blew up LeChuck's Fortress. There he reunited with Toothrot, and ended his search for Big Whoop helped by the parrot. He had to open a hole to the underground Tunnels with dynamite, before stranding himself there. However the explosion alerted Elaine Marley, back on Booty Island, who had no trouble to find her way there and meet Guybrush a few days later, forcing him to narrate all his quest.

Instead of claiming the treasure, Guybrush instead fell into the Tunnels, where he entered another duel with LeChuck, who was waiting for him.
