Horse Armor is a preorder-only item for Return to Monkey Island. Other than a handful of comments from a few characters, the item does not affect the story's progression and can be destroyed by being tossed into the fire place at the Scumm Bar.
Acquisition[]
The armor would automatically appear in the inventory once the game had begun if the player had a pre-ordered version.
Usage[]
It had no practical use, but Threepwood could make different comments on it throughout the game. He could also show it to some other characters for further comments.
- Stan S. Stanman
- Museum Curator
- Elaine Marley (at ending)
Trivia[]
- Horse Armor's inclusion within the game makes fun of pre-order bonuses and various forms of micro-transactions that are prominently featured in other video games. The name itself is a direct reference The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion's Horse Armor Pack, one of the earliest forms of downloadable content, that was heavily criticized for its lack of content and pricing.
