Mad Marty was a resident of Scabb Island. He worked at the Woodtick Laundry, despite being almost deaf and also having extremely bad eyesight.
He was extremely sensitive of his duty, and refused to allow anyone to take laundry from him without a claim ticket. When Guybrush Threepwood offered him Pieces o' Eight, he claimed he "does not launder money". Rumour had it that Marty had been leaving pins in Largo LaGrandes underwear in an attempt to make him leave the island.
