The Murderous Winged Devil (also known as The Beast) was a parrot that lived with Meathook in his home on Hook Isle.
He kept it locked in a cage behind several security doors in fear of it. Though it was not the creature responsible for biting off his hands forcing him to replace them with hooks when he was young, it was similar but smaller. It was however responsible for the closing of Meathook's tourist business when it wounded a guest. Meathook told Guybrush Threepwood to touch the parrot in order to prove his bravery and see that he would be a worthy pirate captain.
During the second act of Escape from Monkey Island, it is revealed that the Beast had previously died due to loneliness.
Trivia[]
- When Guybrush pets the parrot, his verbs change from the usual to others such as 'Stroke', 'Tickle' and 'Tease'.
