LeChuck's crew prepares the potion on the LeShip (Return to Monkey Island)
The Navigation Spell was Voodoo Magic used to enable a ship to travel to the fabled Monkey Island. It allowed ships safe passage through the magical storm surrounding the island. Without it, ships were usually destroyed.
Herman Toothrot discovered the recipe by accident and in turn left it on his ship. It was found and used by Guybrush Threepwood to travel to Monkey Island on his first journey there after his crew mutinied.
The recipe consists of 1 Cinnamon Stick, 4 Leaves of Mint, 1 Human Skull (pressed), 1 squirt Squid Ink, 2 pts Monkey Blood, 1 Live Chicken, 3 oz Brimstone, 1 or more of the following: pyridoxine hydrochloride, zinc oxide, yellow 8, mine mononitrate, and BHA. The potion should be let to bubble over a low flame until thickened.
The potion creates a noxious fume that knocks out the cook and magically steers the ship to its destination.

4 Leaves of Mint - Grog-O-Mints.
1 Human Skull Pressed - Jolly Roger flag.
1 Squirt of Squid Ink - ink bottle.
2 pints of Monkey Blood - very fine wine.
1 Live Chicken - Rubber Chicken with a Pulley in the Middle.
3 oz of Brimstone - the gunpowder.
