Noble Sea Horse was one of the sea-gods worshipped by the Vaycaylians, along with the Cranky Fish and the Turtle. When the three summoning artefacts are together, they would reveal the way to La Esponja Grande.

The Siege of Spinner Cay[]
When McGillicutty and his crew were infected by the Pox of LeChuck, they sought out the summoning artefacts. However, surprisingly to Guybrush, McGillicutty wanted to destroy the sponge, rather than be cured by it, because the pox made them look fearful. McGillicut already obtained the Noble Sea Horse, and left it to Killick Hardtack and Murkel Trenchfoot to hide it well. However, the two pirates entrusted with the artefact were arguing about where to bury it.
