The zombie Putra served on board LeShip as the head and only cook.
Her perferred weapon was a #3 razor whisk, although she also used a cleaver in swordfights.
Her speciality was boiled monkfish and haggis dumplings, and she could also cook Scorched Alaska, which was fellow crewmember Flambe's favorite food, and tentacles with daisy sauce, which was LeChuck's favorite food. At the time of Return, she also prepared food using former crewmembers (Yancy and Mad Flora).
Her favorite sea shanty was Over the Bounding Ptomaine.
History[]
Past[]
Before becoming undead, she was aspiring to become a cook. She died as a result of an anaphylactic shock from eating strawberries while at a culinary academy.
She had been married in the past. She also previously worked on a cutter called Charming Punishment, which she once saved by plugging a cannon hole with biscuit dough.
Since becoming undead, Putra found it hard to find work due to being a zombie. Whenever she went for a job interview, she would be told that she was "too green" - supposedly meaning she had no experience, but she believed they just didn't want her rotting near their food.
Return to Monkey Island[]
At the time of Return, she had been working as the sole cook on LeShip for many years. She was very dedicated to her job, and longed for the title of 'chef' so that her cooking would be taken more seriously. Although LeChuck had refused to promote her over and over again (he sometimes thought she was slacking on purpose because of it), despite her creating an airtight proposal, Guybrush was finally able to get her a promotion by tricking LeChuck into stamping the proposal while it was hidden among other papers.
Relationships[]
She had a good relationship with the First Swabbie Gullet simply because he was the only other zombie on board. He, however, wasn't always as nice to her, describing her job as just "slinging hash." Despite this, Gullet was close enough to Putra that she was the only crewmember (other than, later, the disguised Guybrush) that he shared his love of writing poetry with, although she described his poetry behind his back as "total garbage." She would defend Gullet to others by saying he did have a good side, and that his bullying came from a place of insecurity about his lack of power and influence.
Another member of the crew, Bob, considered Putra his best friend.
Putra had a lot of respect for Iron Rose, the ship’s quartermaster, enough so that she was willing to vote the exact same way as her. Putra considered Iron Rose to be the most intelligent crewmember on the ship.
