Monkey Island Wiki

I see that the Sea of Thieves info was removed for being "apocryphal". It's not made up, it comes from an Pirates of the Caribbean event from that game that features a quest that is one big reference to Monkey Island that was signed off by Disney, the company that currently owns the IP. Even if you don't think it's canon (let's see what is canon after Return comes out), it's something that merits some recognition on this wiki. Here's a site detailing the journals that the information came from: https://www.merfolkslullaby.com/map/tall-tales/a-pirates-life-tall-tale/headless-monkeys-journals?latitude=18.617519&longitude=-64.404344&zoom=15.5&realm=sea-of-thieves User:KrazyKopter96 - 12:34, July 4, 2022

Sea of Thieves Canonicity

So why is the information from the SoT Tall Tales described as non-canon just because it’s in Sea of Thieves? Guybrush and LeChuck and Kate and many others have all returned with the same voice actors and character designs in a storyline that is in continuity with the series in a game that has received official license from LucasArts. What other standard for canonicity has there ever been in this series than that? Are Tales of Monkey Island and Return to Monkey Island not canon, since they were merely licensed, not developed, by LucasArts, too? Game-fanatic (talk) 04:04, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
